Looking for a new hangout spot to shoot the breeze or catch the next game? Check out these sports bars, all of them close to home when you live at the Weston master-planned community in Santee.
The Oaks Bar & Grill
After playing a round at Carlton Oaks Golf & Resort, stop by the clubhouse for a bleu cheese bacon burger or happy hour. Or meet up with your friends at the cherrywood bar to catch a game on one of the 12 big screen televisions.
El Cajon Grand
Relax on the outdoor patio of this popular Main Street bar, play pool, or cozy-up by a fire pit on chilly nights. Got karaoke skills? Show them off on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 8:30 p.m. Check back on their site for daily drink specials.
Junction Bar & Grill
Craving a sports bar in East County with a full menu? Junction Bar & Grill includes lighter options like carne asada tacos and seared ahi along with heartier portions of ribeye and New York steak. Recent specials have included $3 taco Tuesdays and 75 cent wings on Wednesdays.
Just a mile east of Lake Murray, this La Mesa bar offers a neighborly vibe where you can enjoy microbrews over a game of pool, darts or Golden Tee. Check ahead, but their website says happy hour takes place from 12-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sunday.
Cue up for a game of pool or kick back by the lounge sipping on a variety of local brews on tap. Along with the Santee location close by Weston, Alibi also has a location just a few blocks north of Balboa Park you can visit after an afternoon at San Diego Zoo or one of the many park’s museums.
Hooleys Irish Public House
Meet new friends while drinking a pint and playing a game of darts at this neighborhood pub in El Cajon. Enjoy Guinness Irish stew, potato pancakes or their late night happy hour starting at 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Hooleys also hosts live music Friday and Saturday nights.
