Posted on 09 Nov, 2018

Are you game for a little more fun in the sun? Practice and play your favorite sports at a wide variety of outdoor venues near Weston’s master-planned community in Santee.

Lake Murray Tennis Club
Meet up with other tennis enthusiasts and serve at any of the 10 outdoor-lit courts. Starting at 6 p.m. every Friday, Lake Murray Tennis Club hosts an open tourney-style evening for all experience levels. There are also many opportunities to improve your game with a doubles clinic, cardio tennis, 10 and under tennis, a competitive junior clinic, or a private lesson. Or stay sharp joining one of the club leagues.

Mast Park
Throw from a mix of tight tunnels and open holes at the park’s disc golf course, located just west of Santee Town Center. The free-to-play, nine-hole course winds through mature sycamore and cottonwood trees interspersed with newer pin oaks over mostly flat ground. Each hole contains two tee pads with the blue pads being the longer distance and red the shortest.

Looking to shoot hoops or play a pickup game? Mast Park also has a basketball court.

Carlton Oaks Country Club
If golf is more your speed, Carlton Oaks Country Club is conveniently close by Weston. Tee off from the Pete Dye-designed fairways or perfect your swing at the all-grass driving range. Cart and course fees vary, however, the club is open to non-members.

West Hills Park
Just south of Weston’s master-planned community, families and locals of all ages play a wide variety of sports at West Hills Park. Join in or start an impromptu game at the sand volleyball court. Or play a game of catch, football or soccer on the large multipurpose field. Kids ages four to 16 can also join in on the West Hills Little League. Reserve the baseball diamond in advance and you can even host your own night game.

For even more outdoor fun, Weston residents will soon be able to take a dip in the Boulder Ridge resort-style pool or walk from the neighborhood to Mission Trails Regional Park.
