Weston Puts You Close to Outdoor Adventure

Posted on 15 Jan, 2018

At Weston, you’ll be close to parks, lakes and trails when you’re ready to get outside. When you have time for a day trip or weekend getaway, you might want to explore some of our favorites:

Cuyamaca Rancho State Park
Cuyamaca Rancho State Park features 100 miles of pristine trails for hiking, biking and horse riding. Dozens of campsites across the park offer comfortable enclaves for an extended outdoor sortie, with fire rings that are perfect for a campfire under the stars. The terrain of this reserve is a mixture of woodland forest and idyllic meadows that are simply a joy to pass through.

Cleveland National Forest
To the north of the city of San Diego lies the Cleveland National Forest. This unique public space offers outdoor explorers a chance to see a different side of southern California, away from the beaches and the inland deserts. A diversity of terrain makes this forest an ideal place to take an extended hike, as visitors can explore a number of sites along the Pacific Crest Trail. Take a nice and easy stroll across flat plains, or scale some of the park’s mountains for stunning, airy views of Lake Morena and the Mexican border.

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
Located in eastern San Diego County, the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park offers adventuring opportunities without having to range too far from home. With five hundred miles of dirt roads, 12 wilderness areas, hiking trails and breathtaking views, this state park (one of California’s largest) is great for families looking for a quick weekend getaway. For a nice, casual overnight trip, check out the 3-mile Borrego Palm Canyon Trail before exploring the scenic natural vistas of the desert. As a Dark Sky community, the Anza-Borrego Desert State

Joshua Tree National Park
It’s one of the most iconic parks in the United States – and for good reason. Unique for both California and the country, the sights of Joshua Tree National Park are unparalleled. Covering some 700,000 acres, you won’t find a better place to spend a weekend (or a week) in the outdoors. Camping, hiking, stargazing, photography, wildflower walks, horseback riding, rock climbing – you can truly do it all at the Joshua Tree National Park.
