Have you heard the news? The state of California recently mandated all new homes built after 2020 must use solar power. However, we didn’t wait for a law to lead the way toward cleaner energy. All homes at Weston already include roof-mounted solar capabilities. And that’s not the only way Weston takes an earth-friendly and energy-saving approach.
Through our LivingSmart® program, the homes at Weston are more conscious of our planet’s precious resources and use eco-friendly features wherever possible. Each home uses engineered wood to resist warping while preserving our forests, and plush carpeting made from recycled materials to reduce waste. Homes also have a built-in recycling bin so everyone can do their part, and most plans even have the option to include a charging station for an electric vehicle.
LivingSmart also means living comfortably. Low VOC paint and insulation, along with high-quality HVAC filters help contribute to indoor air quality. Plus, programmable thermostats, lighting and other HomeSmart® products make it effortless to manage your home and keeping your utility bills down.
To conserve water, homes include water-efficient fixtures, optional recirculating pumps and an ENERGY STAR® dishwasher. The community also features a variety of beautiful, native and drought-tolerant plants that require less water.
95 acres of the Weston community will remain open space dedicated to habitat preservation and protection of wildlife corridors. When you’re ready for the great outdoors, you can enjoy the surrounding Mission Trails Regional Park and other scenic destinations near Weston, along with West Hills Park, a future two-mile path that will connect to the area’s hillside trails.
