Why You Should Visit the Santee Farmers Market

Posted on 25 Oct, 2017

Nothing’s better than fresh food — and nowhere is it fresher than at a farmers market. Luckily, a farmers market takes place in Santee each and every week.

The market is open every Wednesday, and is located at the intersection of Mast and Carlton Hills Boulevards — less than a mile away from Weston.

All sorts of things are for sale at the market — and not just food, to boot. In addition to fresh fruit and vegetables, vendors also offer flowers, decorative plants, coffee, olive oil, pastries and breads. Even if you’re not looking for a bite to eat, it’s pleasant to take a walk through the market, soaking up the sun while watching farmers and artisans ply their trades.

Fresh ingredients are the cornerstone of good cooking — and you’re bound to notice more flavorful creations when you use freshly picked produce. Plus, fresh food makes it easier to eat healthier — which means more energy and an increased feeling of well-being.

Business hours are 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. from March to October, and 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. during the months between November and February. Debit and credit cards are accepted by most vendors.
